A Tiger Leap into Information Society
Estonia launched the Tiger Leap project about a decade ago, to introduce Information Technologies in schools and companies. The presentation analyzes the impact of this project in Estonian society, which is now in the cutting edge of new technologies.
The point of the presentation is to show how information has become the driving force of the economy, and how our society has evolved into 'the network society'. All the economical revolutions in the history of mankind have been carried out thanks to new ways of production, but also thanks to new ways of deal with information. This project focuses in the latter, presenting the Estonian case as a convenient example.
The powerpoint slideshow is just a very brief summary of the presentation I delivered in May 2008 in the frame of the course 'Technology and Culture', at the Technical University of Catalonia.

An Introduction to Ultra Wideband
Brief introduction (19 pages) to Ultra Wideband (UWB). UWB is a radiocommunication technology that uses ultra-wide spectrum, low power signals, which can coexist in the same spectrum bands with traditional radiofrequency technologies.
This paper was presented in the course '3G Mobile Communications', at the Technical University of Catalonia.
